A Walk in the Greenbelt

It has been a crazy busy year for us! It seems like FOREVER since I have blogged AnYtHiNg.  Being busy with work, baking, PTA's, the boys activities and moving into a new house, has left little time for blogging.

So, to start the summer off right, here are some of our latest family adventures!

We have moved into a  new house, which is located on a greenbelt- and it's awesome! The hubby and the boys could not wait to go exploring!

This is the winter view from our back porch...

I must also mention that we have been introduced to Geocaching. This is the most awesome thing ever! I first heard about it on a CSI episode, and later from my sister. If you love adventure and seek and find games- you will definately love Geocaching!

Here is the basics of Geocaching:

Definition: Geocaching, also referred to as a global positioning or GPS stash hunt, is a recreational activity in which someone "buries" something for others to try to find using a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. The pursuit can be thought of as a GPS-enabled treasure hunt.

You log onto a website, type in your location and ta-da! (There is also an app for smart phones, because, well- what is there NOT an app for)  It will list tons of Geocaches around your location.  There are literally millions of them all around the world!  Then using your GPS (most smart phones will have GPS) you start seeking the Geocache!  You can hide them and find them, so far we are just finding.  It is sooo much fun.  They really enjoy seeking out the treasures in our neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Here are a couple of pictures of our adventure:
Note:  The actual Geocache locations are not in these pictures.
Showing the locations is generally frowned upon by the serious Geocachers.

I also love photography. During our exploration, there were so many beautiful things to photograph! Here are a few of the nature pictures I took.

A Day at the Park – Raymond Russell Park

Our family loves to find new places to hang out and have fun.  I heard about Raymond Russell Park from one of my girlfriends.  It is located near one of my favorite shopping centers- The Rim!   Excuse me…I need to take a little moment.  Ahhh!  That’s better.  I just really love that place!

Raymond Russell has a great play area for the kids.

They also have wonderful areas for family gatherings, loaded with a kitchen area with a large refrigerator to keep your food cool, and tons of counter space.

The boys really loved the “flag wall”.  On the side of one of the buildings, their is a huge flag painted.  Awesome.

We only got to check out a little bit of the park, but we will definitely be back there again.

Just Being Silly…again

What can I say, we are just a silly bunch!  We always have our camera ready to capture our moments.

The boys think it is the greatest thing that we let them act goofy in the stores.

I have no idea where they get this from.

We have such a fun time on our outings.  It is also a really inexpensive way to entertain the kiddos.  All you need is a store and a camera.  We love the craft stores, Kohl's, JC Penny, Burlington CF and Stein Mart.  The best stores are the ones that carry both clothes and house hold items.  I mean props.  Just give it a try, you will be amazed at how much fun it is.  :)

A look back at Fall Soccer

With the World Cup in full swing, I can’t help but think back on the boys fall soccer season.

They love soccer!  This was Cody’s 4th season and Ian’s 2nd.  Cody always looks like he is having the time of his life on the field, while Ian looks very serious.  They love the game!

Cody is always ready for the camera, so here is the little ham doing what he does best.

The end of season parties are always the awesome!

Check out their cool trophies!

Cody’s 7th Birthday!

IMG_3674

Ok- so it was about 2 months ago…but better late than never, right?

I think we have done just about every party place you can think of.  Pizza places, burger places, sports places you name it we have probably had a party there.  It was almost Cody’s birthday and I had no idea what to do.

Meanwhile, Cody had been talking non-stop about the movie, How to Train Your Dragon 3-D, for weeks!  He wanted to see it and that was all there was to it.  Opening week, we would go see it.

That weekend happened be around his birthday.  Since I had been in a dilemma of where to have his party, a movie party was the answer to my prayers.

I looked on line and booked the party.  It was awesome!

We got a special tour of the reel room where all the magic happens.  They showed how the movies are set up, rewound and stored.  IMG_3689IMG_3691

(yes, that is a movie tee he is wearing. you knew that would happen)

Cody actually got to start the movie we were going to see.

(and we got to cut in line to get our snacks.  Once we ordered, they brought them to our seats.  You know how those lines for popcorn and candies are, so you know how wonderful this kind of service is! You know what I’m talking about!  Yes, you do.)

It was a really cute movie.  I want a dragon for a pet now.  We have already added the movie to our que on Netflix.  It was a family hit!

Oh, our tour guide, Marcus, he was awesome!  Overall the party at the movies was well worth every penny!  A movie party is one we will have to do again.  Hmmm, I wonder what will be out around my birthday.

Our dog is crazy!!

Have I mentioned that we have a crazy dog?  Brandie, a husky mix, is completely crazy!

We have caught her on top of things and have no idea how she gets there.  Really…in the fort, on top of the table, and now this.

That’s right- she is in the trampoline.  IN!  How did she get in?  I don’t know.  How does she get on top of stuff?  No idea!

We got her out, and Cody got in.

About a minute later, look who is back inside the trampoline.  Yup!  It’s Brandie!

I missed it again.  I didn’t see her get in and when I asked Cody, well…he just said:

                               “She just did Mom!”

Thanks sweetie, that explains everything.  I think she waits until I’m not looking to do these things.

I know it isn’t safe for her to be in there.  Especially with a bouncing Cody.  But I let her enjoy it for a little while.  Who could resist that face?  Both of their faces!

I wonder what she does while we are away…on second thought, maybe I shouldn’t think about it too much.

A day at the park

Live Oak Park, TX.  What a great place to share Good Friday with friends.  A wonderful picnic lunch, egg hunt and play time with our friends.

I took this time to take some pics of the boys.

And believe it or not…they actually asked when we were going to take our pictures in the bluebonnets!  Can you believe it?!  Crazy- I know.  I think we are going to go some time next week.

I suspect they like doing it because it is the only time they are allowed to play on the side of the highway and not get in trouble.
