TSO

TSO-Trans-Siberian Orchestra!

I had heard many of my friends talking about this concert.  I thought it would be something the boys would like to see.  Boy- did they enjoy it!

Sorry about the late post, things have been a little busy around the San Maritn house. This was a Christmas gift for the family.  Each year we get something that is for everyone.   This year it was TSO.

The rock n roll laser light show spectacular!

It was awesome!  But I will warn you- it is really, really long!  I’m not sure if we will see it again, but I am glad we had a chance to experience it.  It was spectacular!

Happy Valentines Day!

Heart   Flowers   Chocolates!

Mmmm- did I hear Chocolate?!  Yes!!  And lots of it too!

My sweetie pie surprised me this year with lots of chocolates, beautiful roses & a super sweet and romantic love note!  I won’t share the love note with you- but believe me…it was beautiful!

The boys also got me Valentines.  They each gave me a Nintendo DS game and cooking magazines.  I know, I’m just a big kid.  You wouldn’t believe how handy it is to have this DS!  It is perfect for those times you have to wait for something- you know what I mean.  When you are waiting at the doctors office, waiting for a prescription to be filled, soccer practice or school to let out.  It really helps pass the time at those moments.

It was a perfect Valentine’s Day!  I love my guys!

Christmas Hunting Trip

One of our new family traditions is the boys Christmas hunting trip.

                122309 001

It is a great chance for them to bond, and for me to get a nice break after the hectic holidays.

Every now and the I will go with them, but usually I have a ton of projects going on and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Not having to clean up after them is of course a plus. LOL

They have so much fun camping in the Hill Country.

What could be better than boys and nature?   I do worry about them while they are out there.  They always come home refreshed and full of life…and a little stinky too.  *giggle*

Silly Boys!

Our family loves to take pictures.  And we really love taking pictures of our silly selves in silly places.  It is a proud tradition I have passed along to my boys.  Silly boys!

Here are a couple of pics from our outings.  The craft stores are the very best!  So many things to see there, so many options for silly pictures.

Here are some from our trip to Party City shopping for Super Bowl supplies.

Miniature Army Models

                  IMG_3426

My boys love to craft.  Even Johnny!

We went to our local Hobby Lobby and bought a couple of army models for the boys to do.  John loved to do these when he was growing up.

Merry Christmas!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday!

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.  I just love everything about it.  The smells…ohhhhh- the smells!  Cinnamon, cloves, sugar…baked apples. *drool*  Oh…stop!  I can’t take it anymore.  Ok.  I’m ok.  What else…Oh yeah- the lights!

Every year we look forward to seeing The City of Lights in Windcrest.  Always a treat!  The City of Windcrest has the most lights in town.  Everyone in the city has tons of lights…and I mean EvErYoNe!

It is one of our favorite family traditions!

Meet the Author- Diane deGroat

                      111909 004

Our Elementary school is the best!  They have authors come to school to inspire our kids several times a year.  The first author to visit was Diane deGroat.  We were so excited!  We love, love, love her books!

                            syndetics

This one is one of our favorites!  They are about a possum named Gilbert.  I love Gilbert!  He is the perfect character for my boys to read about.  He is the typical little “boy”, going through “boy” things in life.  They can relate to him really well.

The boys can’t wait to see what Gilbert will do next.  Look at him…isn’t he a cutie?!  Her illustrations always draw you in- they are so vivid and enchanting!

Before we met the author…we first we had to get books for her to sign.  You know us…we love anything that involves going to Borders!   The challenge is not to buy EVERY book in the store.  Once we got our books, we were ready to meet the author.

Diane deGroat is author and/or illustrator of several great books.

The boys were very excited to meet author Diane deGroat and have their book signed.

                            111909 013

Whenever we go to Borders, they find her books and tell me.

“Mom- look!  We know her!  She is awesome!”

                                      111909 020

She is a very inspiring woman.  Ian was so inspired – as soon as he came home, he started writing in his journal.

We are looking forward the her upcoming books!  Thanks Diane for inspiring us all!
